Just wanted to take a moment and thank you for the wonderful Turkey hunt this spring. The accommodations were great and the food was outstanding (sorry, I took ALL the leftover Elk, but we've never had such a wonderful dinner)!!

The hunting guides and overall hunting experience was phenomenal and we were all able to tag out, which was a plus, but it wouldn't have mattered with all the fun we had! Again, what a great couple of days and we're already looking forward to the dates we booked for next year; everyone wants JoAnna as their guide, sorry Marty....but she got 3 of the 5 birds taken!

Thanks again for such a wonderful time and we'll see you this fall!

We had a great time at Outlaw Ranch. They made sure we had expert guides with us one each hunt and they wer not afraid to improvise to get us on some great big Toms!! Even if we wouldn not have seen a bird it would still be a success in my book due to the great home cooking, conversation and genuine hospitality! if YOU want a first class relaxing getaway in the country, give the Outlaws a call. They will not disappoing you and you'll feel at home from the time you pull in the drive until the time you say goodbye.

I hunted coyote with Marty & SuEllen the 2nd week of February. It was 40 above and no snow. Cover made hunting very touch. CRP standing tall, coyotes EVERYWHERE....EVERYDAY!!

We also saw 2 moose while we were hunting. Cannot say enough about the lodging, meals and SuEllen is such a great cook. I WILL be back, this is one of the best outfitted hunts I've had.

Hunted with Marty & SuEllen. Super hosptitality, great food, great lodging. Coyote hunting was tough only due to unsesasonably warm weather! Coyotes are ALL OVER, just hard to see due to lack of snow. I WILL be back!!

This was a Pre-Wedding "male bonding" week-end for this wonderful family. They hunted with us last year...which included Jeff's fiance' Kim...but never once did I think they'd be HERE for a "bachelor week-end"...it's a FIRST for us! Congratulations to Jeff and Kim!

Ohio Boy's Kill!

What can I say....SuEllen & Marty took me in as one of their own. I have never experienced such a rush as I did taking my huge 5X6 Elk!! I am still in awe at the A++++ accomodations. The lodge was amazing and comfortable. I gained 7 lbs in two days eating SuEllen's hearty cooking. It took Marty & I  three (3) stalks to get to within 125 yards to make a shot. I can't say enough about this outfitter and the once in a lifetime experience....let's just say I WILL be back for more stories and memories. Thanks again!! Thanks Al & Nick for letting me coyote hunt with ya! Hope to hunt in the future together.

This trip was AWESOME!!

My buffalo that I shot came in weighing (JUST the MEAT!) over 800 lbs!! I loved it!

If you're looking for the adventure of a lifetime, OutLaw Ranch is the place to go! My husband retired this past year, and we decided we wanted to go on a big game hunt. With physical limitations our options were limited. THEN I contacted SuEllen & Martin at OutLaw Ranch. Our prayers were answered! They not only helped us fulfill our dream of an elk/buffalo hunt, but created a lifetime memory. The accomodations, food, friendship and the entire trip were beyond compare.

My husband, Brad, was able to bag his elk at about 300 yares, high fence...HA! And with Marty's patience I was able to get my buffalo.

Sam Stuber's Elk

BEST time, BEST accomodations= BEST Hunting! Food is great, too. I enjoyed an all day hunt after spotting & stalking a manificent Elk. I placed a shot just under the heart...wounding the animal. Marty's knowledge of the land and tracking abilities made for an all day stalk which brought me within 130 yards for a kill shot. The pictures of my smile finish the story.

I met SuEllen Brown on line while looking for a buffalo hunt. She gave me the information to book a hunt. Marty, her husband and the outfitter, assured me of a challenging and ETHICAL hunt. I decided to hunt an Elk rather than a Buffalo and we took a beautiful 7X7 with my 375 H&H magnum....a real priority for me. Like my African experiences I was treated like a friend & fellow hunter...NOT a number or a paycheck. They have a first class operation and are first class folks!

Not only were we able to get 33 ducks between the 2 of us in 3days (which is no small feat considersing we had no idea what we were doing!) but my brother Brendan realized a 15 year long dream in bagging a MONSTER ELK! We are already talking about doing this again in the short future.

Should anyone be thinking of an elk hunt, duck or bird hunting in general, Outlaw Ranch is the place to go. The only thing more plentiful than game are accomodations, food, friendship and of course B.S. & wisdom! Marty & SuEllen know how to take care of your every need. They do it with sincerity. Being a farmer; Marty knows Mother Nature and how She works. He respects Her & works with Her to make your hunt one to not just remember but CHERISH! Forget the word "High Fence"...I had to take my bull at 300+ yards. Everything you read on the website is true and more. So go west of Balta, ND about 10.5 miles and have the time of your life!

I was very pleased with how I was treated upon arrival at camp. Martin & SuEllen are very friendly and make you feel at home. The lodge is very nice and comfortable. The food is very good and plentiful. I came to hunt Elk and all the bulls I saw were really nice. The property we hunted on was a nice mix of open pasture, trees and hills. The morning we went to hunt after finding a bull we were able to make a good stalk on it to within a good shot range for my rifle and would have been good for a bow with a little patience. I would like to come back and would recomment Outlaw Ranch to others.

Just a quick note to say THANK YOU! Hunting a buffalo was on my bucket list and after talking to you two, I’m glad I picked Outlaw Ranch Outfitters to fulfill this goal.

The hunt was not a corral hunt and it took me four different stalks to complete it. I was not aware of the dangers of speed and attitude in these large animals and Marty’s insight insured a safe and successful hunt. SuEllen, you made me feel at home with great hospitality and food. The lodging is top notch and now I sit with great memories and a freezer full of tasty buffalo.

Marty & SuEllen –

Just wanted to write you a quick note and thank you so much for a wonderful buffalo hunt experience I had at your ranch.

This being my first buffalo hunt I really didn’t know what to expect. Marty, I appreciate the tip on watching for the tail to go up for a sign that the bull is not real happy and to always make sure I’m near a climbable tree.

Your lodge was so nice to stay at ! Neat, clean, and the food cooked by you, SuEllen was wonderful!

The only drawback of hunting at the Outlaw Ranch was seeing all the trophy elk and hearing about the great bird hunting, and now not being able to get that picture out of my mind and having to wait until next fall to come back for those hunts. I hope my son can join me next time, as the memories of hunting with your child are priceless!

Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality, and the buffalo meat is great!

To my Fellow Hunters,

I recently went on a Buffalo and Waterfowl hunt in North Dakota with the Brown's. We had a fabulous time. They have a brand new Lodge completed in 2010 and it was extremely comfortable with all the amenities of home in the middle of the remote North Dakota praire pothole region. SuEllen's meals were great and she insisted on preparing home cooked meals for us 3 time a day (don't plan on losing any weight).

The hunting was spectacular. The Waterfowl was were everywhere. Our biggest problem was deciding which species to target. On a 7 day hunt we shot Canadian Geese, Sandhill Cranes, Tundra Swans, and a multitude of ducks I had never seen before let alone shot. It was great. I shot my first banded bird! Although Norh Dakota is loaded with hunters that time of year in the Rugby area, we didn't encounter any other hunters over our weeks stay. If we saw 3 cars a day drive past the Brown's place, it was a busy day. My buddy always says North Dakota is what South Dakota was 25 years ago.

I also took a 1,500lb + Bison Bull with my bow on ths trip. It was an awesome hunt. These buffalo are not domestic cows and they know when they are being hunted. It got our adrenaline pumping on a few of our stalks for the herd bull when the bison cows winded us at under 10 yards. We weren't sure if they were going to turn and run or just run over us.. I was ready to hoist myself into a tree. When they get to running you can feel the ground pulsing. I ended up with 400-500 lbs. of organic grass fed Bison meat, and my family loves it.

I'll be back next year for another adventure!

I am starting this with a very big “thank you” to Marty and SuEllen Brown. My son Sam and I booked a hunt at Outlaw Ranch with full anticipation of roughing it. The only part that was rough was when Sam and I missed our connector flight from Minneapolis. Not because of the air lines, we both lost track of time and arrived at our gate five minutes late. So with a slight panic I phoned SuEllen and Marty and they immediately said get as close as you can and we will pick you up. That is exactly what happened and Marty logged three extra hours of driving to accommodate our mistake. I could easily stop there and you would already understand the thoughtfulness and caring of the Brown Family, however that was only the beginning of a great trip. The accommodations are 1st rate, more food, strike that, more good home cooked family style food than we could or should have eaten. The Buffalo hunting was great fun with plenty of options on which animal to take (and the meat was excellent). During our trip, my son and I had opportunity for Elk, Buffalo, Coyote, Pheasant, Rabbit, and Porcupine. Thanks to a local taxidermy (Shane Johnson) I even tried my hand at Beaver trapping. I fully intend to return to Minot ND. And stay at Outlaw Ranch. If there is one word of advice that I believe will make your trip one to remember, be very selective on your choice of butchers. I know my next hunt I will request more information, including cuts and seasoning.
